When I started first Magento I can not install it locally,I just work on live server.But it’s so painful for me.I got a lot of installation tutorials on online but I don’t get any result.At last I find out it and share it for all who are the beginner and fall down problem to install Magento on local server.It’s not so hard for PHP programmers who have at least little knowledge of php.ini file of server.At first I suggest you to use Xampp it’s easy for beginner.So let’s start :

1. I use Xampp for this tutorial.Find the file from Xampp xampp/php/php.ini

2. Then open this file php.ini and change the change like below :

i)  First Download the latest version of Xampp.

ii)  Find ;extension=php_curl.dll and change it to extension=php_curl.dll (Just remove[;] commentof PHP)

ii) Find memory_limit = 32M and change it to memory_limit = 128M or more . I use  512M.

iii) Find max_execution_time = 60 and change it to max_execution_time = 18000 or more . I use  18000.

iv) Find max_input_time = 60 and change it to max_input_time = -1 .

After these changes save the file and restart your local Apache server.This is the pre-installation procedure to install Magento.

Sometimes we fall a problem how to change virtuemart default currency selector of Joomla.It’s so easy just follow the below instruction :

Login to Joomla Administrator Panel > Components > Virtumart > Store > edit store > Select your country and State..  and that’s all it needed..

it seems that the when you install virtumart it sets a default country and this overrides that default to your country and currency.. So easy 😀

Sometime a lot of developer don’t find how to change the virtuemart cart image,it is so much easy just change the css code and upload your image.In below I discuss that step by step :

In com_virtuemart/themes/default/
you will see theme.css – the second entry is

.addtocart_button {
background: url( 'images/add-to-cart_blue.gif' ) no-repeat  center transparent;

Either change the image specified (there are others in the image directory) or define a colour.ENJOY 😉

When products are added to the cart there is a Notice pop-up box, which prompts whether to continue shopping or to navigate to the cart.

You can easily disable the checkout Notice pop-up box.

Navigate to your Joomla administrator area->Components->VirtueMart->Admin-> Configuration->Site.

Click on the Configuration link besides the Select the theme for your Shop drop-down menu.

There set the following values:

Customer Checkout in a popup (GreyBox)? No
Use Ajax to add, update or delete products from the cart? No

Save the changes and test the new functionality. Once you order an item you will be redirected to the cart page.

There is a filter in VirtueMart, which cuts the object and the embed html tags.

In order to embed YouTube video and other Flash files in your VirtueMart product description area you should remove the object and the embed items from the following array:

var $tagBlacklist = array('applet', 'body', 'bgsound', 'base',  'basefont', 'embed', 'frame', 'frameset', 'head', 'html', 'id',  'iframe', 'ilayer', 'layer', 'link', 'meta', 'name', 'object', 'script',  'style', 'title', 'xml');

The new array will be:

var $tagBlacklist = array('applet', 'body', 'bgsound', 'base',  'basefont', 'frame', 'frameset', 'head', 'html', 'id', 'iframe',  'ilayer', 'layer', 'link', 'meta', 'name', 'script', 'style', 'title',  'xml');

The modification should be completed in the administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/phpInputFilter/class.inputfilter.php file.

Then you can edit the product description html code and embed the video using similar lines:

<div align="center">
<object width="445" height="364"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/VIDEO PATH"></param><param  name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param  name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/VIDEO PATH"  type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"  allowScriptAccess="always" width="445"  height="364"></embed></object>
</div>

You should replace http://www.youtube.com/VIDEO PATH with your video file URL.
